ARTEFAKT is a reactive four-channel sound and video installation. Visitors enter the installation through one of its corners, stepping into an immersive environment where their movements influence both sound and visuals. Pressure-sensitive floor pads inside the cube trigger dynamic visuals and sound spatialisation, which responds to the position and pressure of those within the space.
Four aligned video projections surround the interior, displaying generative, minimalistic visuals—geometric patterns, lines, and fractal shapes. These visuals are directly affected by the intensity of the visitors’ movements, shifting in brightness and form accordingly. In moments of inactivity, the visuals and audio return to a state of static.
The accompanying soundscape is synthetic and glitchy, evolving in real-time through generative processing with each interaction. ARTEFAKT will premiere at HEK during the Basel Museum night in Basel, Switzerland.
