Uncoalesce broadly explores observation at different scales — the act of "zooming in" from macroscopic musical events to microscopic sonic phenomena. The composition moves between musical gestures and deep listening textures, employing both literal time-stretching of acoustic materials and a gradual compositional shift toward microtonal and spectral territories. The compositional act becomes one of prying apart the structures from which sounds are made: from chords to sounds and from sounds to transients and spectra.
